Orazio Bobbi – the Bas-relief

The Bas-relief was one of the modes of representation to which the artist has made extensive use.

The Bas-relief, or sunken relief, owes its name to the choice of obtaining the figures inside or descending below the work plane, digging or carving the plane itself to obtain the desired shape.

Orazio Bobbi has made different stylistic choices according to the subject passing from modeling classical to modern forms, but also adopting egyptizing styles rather than geometric synthesis.

As for the high reliefs, since there is no rear side of the visible work, this is not modeled.

The materials with which the works were made are different: wood, plaster, copper, bronze, resin, etc …

The following gallery presents a part of these works.
